SCR Group Runs

It's great to run with a group!

Running with a group sure makes the time pass quickly (not to mention the interesting assortment of topics a group can manage to discuss when everyone's brain is simultaneously being deprived of oxygen). But seriously, the support and camaraderie you obtain from your group can be invaluable.

Several runners in the Southern Colorado area have indicated that they'd be interested in running with a group...if only they could find a few people who's pace, ability, and interests match theirown....That's the reason we created this web page. If you're interested in adding new blood to your existing group...send an e-mail to our webmaster and we'll be happy to place the information on this page.

Nature Center Runs - Wed 7:00am; Sun 7:30am

These runs are organized by Stacey Diaz, 564-9303. The pace is around 9-9:30/mile. Distance ranges from 5 to 10 miles. It is all on dirt trails above and around the Nature Center. Be sure to contact Stacey by the email link or by phone to be sure that a cancellation has not occurred.

SCR Predict Races

The SCR Predict race series is a time trial that tests not how fast you can run, but how well you can pace yourself over a variety of terrains and distances. We round up each year at our annual banquet with an awards presentation. For details check the Predict Series pages.

Volunteering

SCR is a volunteer organization. Interested volunteers can help with race promotion, coordination, course marshalling, aid station work, finish line work and result tabulation. The club newsletter "Footprints" and the club web site accept articles on recent races and running related items. Volunteers earn points and can be eligible for awards and recognition at the SCR Annual Banquet described below. Interested in volunteering? Contact our membership chair or attend a monthly meeting.

Monthly Business Meeting

The first Wednesday of each month at the Pueblo YMCA we conduct club business. This includes receiving officer reports, organizing upcoming races, reviewing those that have taken place, considering requests for race or financial assistance as well and making other policy decisions. Read our club minutes to get a better idea of what goes on. Anyone is welcome to participate.

Annual Banquet

Join us for an evening of glamour, awards, entertainment and prizes. Check our calendar for the annual event that takes place each January.

Summer Picnic

Every summer we hold a picnic. Both club members and newcomers are welcome to join the games and feast.
